This is how markus would describe his job

For an optimal start to the day, an overview of all key company figures is of course essential.

Then I create a to-do list for the day:

Which tasks must and which should be completed?
What should be achieved at the end of the day?
Who is involved in the achievement of goals?

Although my main focus is on purchasing, one thing is always very clear: the focus is on the customer and until he is not satisfied, I do not devote myself to any other tasks.

If the day allows, I like to take half an hour to think. It’s all about improvements, optimizations and savings. During this time, I usually have a few ideas that will be put in action from time to time.

The best thing about Markus' job is

Undoubtedly: the completely free design option of the job around the family – and not the other way around! This way I can be successful and a good father at the same time.

Moreover, I’m a total numbers person:
Numbers are extremely informative and you can use numbers to analyze exactly how a company should be managed and whether various measures taken in the past have been successful. I can’t and won’t accept a “It’s just like that”, and so various complex problems are solved and no day turns out to be boring.

I especially value the team and business partners

Our team is loyal to the company, flexible and independent. This is a luxury for every CEO: a few specifications and rough framework conditions are enough and the rest takes care of itself. We are a large, friendly (company) family.

Christian is the perfect counterpart to me: he compensates for my weaknesses with his structure and takes over everything communicative to the outside, which I’m really happy about. He is very ambitious and has handshake quality. In discussions, just one glance is enough to assess the situation.

What can you laugh about heartly?

About anything and everything. I like to describe myself as a big child and also live it out like this in my private life: Nothing is too embarassing for me. I like to say to my wife: “Don’t be sad when our three sons grow up, you will always have one child ;-).”

Did you plan your career from the start?

A big YES. As soon as I left school, I knew that in the long term the only thing I could do was be self-employed. I never knew how, when, what: whether the products would be crockery, potatoes or in the end cables, but one thing was certain: it will be a trading company and as long as you stick to the old wisdom “If you buy something for 50 cents, you have to sell it for €1”, (almost) nothing can go wrong.

What are Markus' management principles?

My principles are and will always remain the same: family, honesty, fairness and reliability. We are who we are: this is the way we have been successful and this is the way we will keep it. Reliability is especially important to me: handshake quality counts and promises MUST be kept. If I’m not 100% sure, I won’t give my agreement either: nothing worse than having to go back on a promise.

Something personal about Markus:

My wife, our three children and I are total “connoisseurs of rural life”. A big city would not be a place for us to live. In addition to my family, the music association is also important to me, which I have been able to support with my horn for an estimated 28 years. As the saying goes: “The best thing about music isn’t in the notes” – it’s the cohesion in the group and the fun with music that makes club life something very special.

What three things in your life are you most grateful for?

Of course for my large family, the health of the family and of course the company.

What is your goal?

Like everyone, I want to live a beautiful, healthy and above all happy life. Ultimately, this is the only important thing that really matters.

I can still well remember the day when the construction work for our first own building in Hungary started: I watched the whole event for a while and only had one thought: “Markus, you are really lucky treasure”. This joy about owning my own building really continues to this day and I always like to think back to this moment.
